¡Llévalo a la Gente! was recorded live in Portland on 5 June 2004 and was produced by Erik Dewhurst. Paul plays guitar and sings on everything except "It's Gonna Be a Long Night"; Erik plays bass, sings backup on "Bomb Shelter" and "Northern Lights," and sings lead on "It's Gonna Be a Long Night." On "So Blue" and "Almost" Erik plays a fretless bass that he built himself, and on "Bottlecaps & Magazines" he plays violin. The theremin on "Payphone" was played by whoever was standing near it at the time. Drums and samples are by Lars, the brave reel-to-reel deck, who was operated onstage by Erik and whose backing tracks were assembled by Paul, which latter task involved sequencing the drums and playing cello and piano; except the drums for "You Can't Hurry Love," which Paul and Erik did together, and the drums for "It's Gonna Be a Long Night," which Erik did.
